Jeremy left school at fifteen with no qualifications. He is entirely self taught. He is also dyslexic. For a long time he saw that as a disadvantage. Over time he came to understand it as one of the most important things about how he thinks. Dyslexia gave him the ability to read a room, see patterns others miss, understand people quickly and communicate complex ideas simply. It shaped the way he observes, reflects and connects with people. And it is one of the reasons this book exists in the form it does, built on human observation rather than academic theory.
What followed was forty five years in the business world, not studying it from the outside but living it from the inside.
He started his career in sales, worked his way into senior leadership and eventually into the boardroom. He has operated at C-suite level across multiple sectors including private equity backed businesses where the pressure is real, the timelines are short and performance is non-negotiable. He has helped lead organisations through significant cultural change, mergers and acquisitions, and the kind of moments that don't make it into the highlight reel. He has also led HR and people development functions, which gave him a different and invaluable perspective on what actually makes people perform and what gets in the way.
The projects that nearly destroyed the business before they saved it. The presentations that went badly wrong in front of six hundred people. The decisions that looked right at the time and didn't end that way. He has made enough mistakes to know what actually works, and has been honest enough with himself to learn from the ones that didn't.
Jeremy is the founder of NudgeAI and CEO of The Black Isle Group, a learning and development business serving multinational organisations across the world. He has worked with senior executives from across multiple countries and industries, helping them close the distance between who they are and who they know they could be. His north star has always been helping people develop and perform at their best. Alongside his commercial work he gives a significant amount of his time to pro bono coaching, working with people who wouldn't otherwise have access to that kind of support.
Away from work Jeremy is a Samaritans listening volunteer and a mentor for new volunteers training to become fully qualified listeners, a cause he cares about deeply. He lives in Oxfordshire with his wonderful wife of 34 years, their two grown up children who are proving impossible to get off the payroll, and two badly behaved Lakeland terriers who have absolutely no interest in his model. In his spare time he can usually be found driving his beloved Morgan across Europe, exploring roads that weren't designed for sensible decisions.
After Monday is his first book. It took longer to write than it should have. False Hope showed up more than once. So did doubt and fear. But the After Monday model is how he finally changed.
